Our History

A child with cerebral palsyThe Rose Walton Centre was opened in 1992 to provide specialised nursery education facilities for a child with cerebral palsy (a family member of the founders) with a view to helping more children.

Scope The centre is situated within Mill Grove, a residential community caring for children which is fully supportive of our work. We are affiliated to SCOPE, the national organisation for those with cerebral palsy, their family and carers.
We provide pre-school education for children 0-5 years old with motor learning needs using the Peto method of conductive education.

The aim of the school is to develop the child’s abilities and confidence in pre-school years and to prepare them for the next stage of their education, giving them equal opportunities.

We also offer physiotherapy, speech/language and sensory lessons.
